OK kids you're in for a real treat. We are going to something super special to get you hooked on the art of magic. We have never done this before on our website but we think it's time to initiate you into the world of magic with our free Magic Academy Class! That's right our magicians teamed up and selected one of their favorite tricks from the magic vault to teach you so you can present it to your friends. Just take this simple oath first, O.K? The Oath " I (say your name _______) hereby promise to keep the secrets of magic to myself so that I won't spoil the wonder and amazement of the hard work I do for myself and my friends. I also promise to stop into JJ Blinkers on occasion to see what's new and stock up on magic tricks so that I keep my routines fresh and clever." AMAZING MAGIC TRICK FOR YOU! O.K. now that your ready it's time to begin. Here's a trick that we know you'll love and it can be preformed almost anywhere with an everyday object like a coin. Practice to get everything just right. The Trick Ask to borrow a quarter from a member in the audience. Before you take it have them say what year the quarter was made. You'll want to be sitting at a table for this trick. Place the coin on the table and lift it off a few times. This gets the crowd used to the lifting movement. Next upon the third lift of the coin you'll want to secretly allow the coin to drop into your other hand or lap underneath the table. This is a false lift. In a smooth and similar lifting motion raise your fingers to make it appear you are still holding the coin and then lower it and knock on the table three times. The trick here is to synchronize the knocking of the hand on top of the table with the actual coin secretly hidden in your other hand underneath the table. On the third knock go ahead and pretend to push the coin through the table. Make a rubbing motion with your top hand and then lift your fingers to reveal that there is nothing there! Now produce the coin from under the table with your other hand from underneath the table, give it a few knocks for good luck and have an amazed spectator read off the date on the coin. Reinforce the illusion by saying that you just passed a metal coin through the solid table and presto you just learned a new trick! |
